Darren Wilson Resigns From Ferguson Police Department

Photo: St. Louis County Prosecutor's Office)

Darren Wilson, the officer that killed Mike Brown, has resigned from his post with the Ferguson Police Department on Saturday.

Wilson outlined the departure in a letter obtained by ksdk.com.

The letter reads as follows:

I, Darren Wilson, hereby resign my commission as a police officer with the City of Ferguson effective immediately. I have been told that my continues employment may put the residents and police officers of the City of Ferguson at risk, which is a circumstance that I cannot allow. For obvious reasons, I wanted to wait until the grand jury made their decision before I officially made my decision to resign. It was my hope to continue in police work, but the safety of other police officers and the community are of the paramount importance to me. It is my hope that my resignation will allow the community to heal. I would like to thank all of my supporters and fellow officers throughout this process.

-Darren Wilson

Wilson has been the center of a controversial firestorm that has resulted in mass riots, deaths and boycotts most recently after he was not indicted for slaying unarmed teenager Mike Brown.

Mike Brown’s family issued a statement through their lawyer Anthony Gray.

“I believe Officer Darren Wilson made a personal decision that was in his best interest given the circumstances,” the statement read.

Darren Wilson had amassed hundreds of thousands in support funding. Some reports say he has about a million in a war chest.

NYPD To Wear Body Cameras In Certain Areas

Police Brutality

NYPD has a pretty long legacy of violence against its citizens of color, but that may be difficult going forward.

Certain officers in specific areas will begin to wear body cameras as of January 2015. The move is to counter and document shootings that have happened under suspicious conditions.

“It’s a controlled setting. You know they’re being done, and where they’re being done. And there’s even the possibility they can be used to document some of the conditions in the buildings,” a rep for the NYPD told the New York Daily News.

New York is in line with the way the country is moving.

Taser, a company know for stun guns, reports that body camera sales are up 30% since the third quarter, according to a CNN report. The upward trend started before unarmed Mike Brown was killed by Ferguson officer Darren Wilson. Another company, Digital Ally, reports similar surges in body cameras, attributed to police departments world wide.

Hopefully the change will keep police accountable and save lives of unarmed citizens.

The singer-songwriter also posted the lyrics to the song on the website. Listen to Frank Ocean’s “Memrise” and read the lyrics to the song below.

I memorized the wayward expressions
Never look down
Never let you see me down
I memorized the way no directions
Can I come over now
I’d like to stay a little while
I memorized your body exposed
I could f**k you all night long
From a memory alone

I never forget a face
Don’t go plastic on me
Nothing’s set in stone
You’re not dipped in gold
Dipped in gold
You can’t breathe if you’re dipped in gold
You are not on paper
You are not a copy
You’re so, you’re so..so thick, so thick

Outraged Communities Unify To Boycott Black Friday

Screen Shot 2014-11-27 at 6.57.41 PM

The fallout from the slaying of Mike Brown has resulted in a mass boycott of consumer products on the huge shopping day Black Friday.

The boycott is a shift from mass protests that have taken place over the nation in the days after Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson was set free with no indictment for killing Brown.

Now the plan is to continue to march for the end of police brutality, but also to strike from an economic angle.

Below is a statement from the official website of blackoutforhumanrights.com.

Blackout for Human Rights (Blackout) is a network of concerned artists, activists, and citizens who committed their energy and resources to immediately address the staggering level of human rights violations against fellow Americans throughout the United States. We have witnessed enough. An affront to any citizen’s human rights threatens the liberty of all. So, we participate in one of the most time honored American traditions: dissent. We demand an immediate end to the brutal treatment and inhumane killings of our loved ones; the lives of our friends, our parents and our children have value and should be treated with respect. Our right to life is secured not only by our humanity, but is protected by law both federally and internationally by the Constitution of the United States of America and the United Nation’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Protesters Cause Chaos During NYC’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

thanksgiving parade

AllHipHop is on the scene at today’s New York City’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and things are getting ugly. Objects were being thrown off the roof at NYPD officers at 37th street and sixth avenue and police are steadily making arrests. It turns out that this uproar was all planned, according to the New York Post.

Today’s disorderly activities are a continuation of the protests from Monday night (Nov. 24) after people became outraged over the grand jury’s decision to not indict officer Darren Wilson. After protesters were able to march and shut down major New York City roadways like the FDR Drive and the West Side Highway without police interference for two nights in a row, they set sights on today’s parade and were lead by an organizer named Magiq.

“The police aren’t going to arrest us and they are not going to shoot us,” said the 27-year-old Brooklynite to two dozen people in Union Square. “They’re walking right by us now with their heads down and their tails between their legs.”

Through the hashtag, #StopTheParade Magiq was able to gather people and further organize more chaos for today’s festivities.

People are still getting arrested, with six being taken into custody already for throwing the object off of the roof. Watch footage of one of the arrests made today here.

J. Cole Talks Starting Dreamville Records, Criticism He’s “Boring”, & Jay Z Believing In Him

J Cole2

J. Cole is making a risky move with the release of his third studio album 2014 Forest Hills Drive. The Fayetteville, North Carolina emcee is putting the project out with any singles or major marketing plan.

While other acts like Beyoncé, The Lox, and Kid Cudi have tried this approach in recent months, an artist choosing not to promote their work before it hits stores could affect the album’s sales numbers. Or that “no promo” tactic could actually be an effective promotional idea.

Cole may not be doing a lot of press over the next few weeks, but he did conduct an interview with Complex. The Q&A included the Roc Nation signee talking about various subjects. Read some of J. Cole’s quotes below.

On starting Dreamville Records:

I always wanted to be f**king Berry Gordy. I wanted to have a production platform. But now I realize that, even if I never produce a record for someone who’s signed to me, the real pleasure of having a label is watching somebody start from ground zero and get to level one, two, and three. These dudes are trying to get to 100. It’s mad rewarding for me to see.

On criticism he is a boring artist:

I’m an introverted person, especially with problems. I feel like I can deal with s**t on my own and I don’t need to express it. I put up a great front because I don’t want to show [that something bothers me], which is why I respect Wale. I’ve always loved that he says it and he says it right away, like, “Yo, I don’t feel this. Them n***as ain’t showing me no respect.” In a way, that’s therapeutic. To keep it in and suppress it makes it worse. That kind of expressiveness is not prevalent in my music, but you’ll find lines. That s**t affected me so much that I had to write a line about it. I can tell you five or six lines where it was addressed. That’s the danger of giving a f**k about what people say in an age where you can see what people say so easily. It’s about getting over that, like, “Man, I don’t give a f**k. I love me. I love this shit I just made. If you like it, f**king great. If you don’t like it, cool. I hope you find some other s**t you like.” On my best day that’s how I feel.

On Jay Z and Roc Nation now believing in him as an artist:

They definitely believe in me more now. But first of all, Jay Z believed in me enough to sign me, and for that I am forever grateful. Thank God he heard “Lights Please” and those songs I played for him the first meeting. Thank God he signed me off of those. After that, I can’t front. If we asked him honestly, I’m sure he would say he wasn’t sure what I would turn out to be in the grand scheme of things, in terms of commercial success.

New York Times Forced To Issue Correction For Fake Kanye West Quote About Kim K’s *ss

Kanye West

The New York Times is regarded as one of the most respected news organizations in the world, but even the 160-year-old paper falls victim to false stories. That was the case when the Times recently published an article about Kim Kardashian’s behind which used a fictional Kanye West quote from the satirical website The Daily Currant.

Columnist Joyce Wadler wrote a piece in the Times‘ Fashion & Style section titled “Fear of Kim Kardashian’s Derrière.” In the article, Wadler referred to Kanye saying, “My booty is like Michelangelo level, you feel me? It’s like a sculpture. It’s like something that should be sitting in a museum for thousands of thousands of years. Kim? She’s got a nice ass. But it’s not at that level.”

The problem is that statement was taken from The Daily Currant‘s fake story, and Wadler did not credit the website. The New York Times was forced to print the following correction:

An earlier version of this column was published in error. That version included what purported to be an interview that Kanye West gave to a Chicago radio station in which he compared his own derrière to that of his wife, Kim Kardashian. Mr. West’s quotes were taken, without attribution, from the satirical website The Daily Currant. There is no radio station WGYN in Chicago; the interview was fictitious, and should not have been included in the column.

This is not the first time West was involved in an erroneous quote controversy courtesy of The Daily Currant. Last December, the site posted a fake news story that included a bogus quote from Kanye calling himself “the next Nelson Mandela” not long after the South African leader’s death. The article was widely circulated on social media as being factual.

Mike Brown’s Family Releases Statement Regarding No Indictment Ruling

mike brown parents

A grand jury composed of one black man, two black women, three white women and six white men; have finally revealed their verdict, choosing not to indict Ferguson Officer Darren Wilson in the shooting of unarmed teen Michael Brown.

Following the announcement, the Brown family has released a statement via their lawyer:

“We are profoundly disappointed that the killer of our child will not face the consequence of his actions. While we understand that many others share our pain, we ask that you channel your frustration in ways that will make a positive change.  We need to work together to fix the system that allowed this to happen. Join with us in our campaign to ensure that every police officer working the streets in this country wears a body camera. We respectfully ask that you please keep your protests peaceful.  Answering violence with violence is not the appropriate reaction.   Let’s not just make noise, let’s make a difference.”

The parents of Michael Brown will hold a press conference November 25 at 11 a.m CST in order to provide additional comments.

This story is still developing.

The Mike Brown/Darren Wilson Indictment Decision Expected Today

darren-wilson

Sources with AllHipHop have begun whispering that a decision will be handed down on a Ferguson police officer that killed unarmed Mike Brown in August.

However, the early report is that the odds are not favorable that Darren Wilson will go to trial for murder.

Justin Hansford, Assistant Professor St Louis University Law School, told AllHipHop, “A prosecutor is supposed to make the case (for murder), that’s his job. (Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch) just said ‘Look at the evidence (against Darren Wilson).”

Hansford also outlined the law in the case, arguing that it is clearly states a crime was committed by Officer Wilson.

“The law around excessive use of force in Missouri is unconstitutional.  If they don’t issue a grand jury announcement correcting that, the whole thing is illegitimate,” he said.

However, an antiquated, largely unused law may offer a loophole for Wilson, according to stlpublicradio.org.

An outdated Missouri law that allows police to shoot an unarmed fleeing felon could help Officer Darren Wilson avoid an indictment and prison, legal experts say.

If St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch advises the grand jury to follow the outdated law, he would be reducing the chances of an indictment. Wilson could be viewed as acting in line with state law when he shot unarmed Michael Brown after he began to flee.

Now, only time will tell when and if a verdict will be handed down. In order to get a grand jury decision has to be unanimous 100% agreement.

Other sources have indicated that a press conference may happen later simply to inform the press and the people that no decision has been made. CNN has definitively confirmed that the grand jury has made a decision.

AllHipHop will continue to keep rolling updates as they come.

Don Lemon Still Facing Criticism Following Interview With Cosby Accuser

Don Lemon1

CNN journalist Don Lemon is still under fire after an interview with Joan Tarshis, one of Bill Cosby’s rape accusersin which Lemon clumsily questioned whether the alleged victim did enough to prevent being raped and inquired why she did not “use her teeth” as a method to prevent Cosby from allegedly forcing her to perform oral sex.

Speaking to People Magazine Tarshis explained “I was kinda shocked and then a part of me thought, ‘Damn, why didn’t I think of that?’ I was just so surprised because at first because I didn’t know what he meant when he said, ‘There are other ways of dealing with this.’ … I became flustered.”

Lemon, who admits that he was sexually abused as a child, issued an apology on Wednesday stating, “As I am a victim myself I would never want to suggest that any victim could have prevented a rape. If my question to her struck anyone as insensitive, I am sorry as that is certainly and was not my intention.”

Read a portion of the original interview or watch below:

LEMON: Can I ask you this, because – and please, I don’t mean to be crude, OK?

TARSHIS: Yeah.

LEMON: Because I know some of you — and you said this last night, that he — you lied to him and said “I have an infection, and if you rape me, or if you do — if you have intercourse with me, then you will probably get it and give it to your wife.”

TARSHIS: Right.

LEMON: And you said he made you perform oral sex.

TARSHIS: Right.

LEMON: You — you know, there are ways not to perform oral sex if you didn’t want to do it.

TARSHIS: Oh. Um, I was kind of stoned at the time, and quite honestly, that didn’t even enter my mind. Now I wish it would have.

LEMON: Right. Meaning the using of the teeth, right?

TARSHIS: Yes, that’s what I’m thinking you’re –

LEMON: As a weapon.

TARSHIS: Yeah, I didn’t even think of it.

LEMON: Biting. So, um –

TARSHIS: Ouch.

LEMON: Yes. I had to ask. I mean, it is, yeah.

TARSHIS: Yes. No, it didn’t cross my mind.

Drumma Boy Addresses Possible Court Case & Copycat Producers

drummaboy

Producer Drumma Boy burst on the music scene by crafting tracks for rap stars like Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, Waka Flocka, Juicy J, Rick Ross, T.I., and many others. But it was a recent song Drumma made with Jeezy that has a Wisconsin rapper named Big Chris crying foul.

Chris reportedly filed a lawsuit against Jeezy claiming the Atlanta native’s Seen It All: The Autobiography cut “Me OK” was a rip off of his own song “13 shots.”

Drumma was the man behind the boards for “Me Ok,” and the Drum Squad leader wants the public to know he did not steal anything. Drumma connected with DJ Smallz Eyes to talk about his own copycat producers as well as accusations he has bitten beats.

“The fraudulent accounts are always pointed out at some point in fashion. So you can be with the fraud s**t. You can imitate, you can copy styles, and claim that you make these motherf**king beats that you know you didn’t make because I made,” said Drumma. “All these different claims and disputes and s**t, bring that s**t on. You know who f**king made what. If we ever go to court, you’ll see what the f**king results are.”

Gun Sales Spike Ahead Of Grand Jury Decision In Ferguson

gun sales ferguson

Fearing more unrest, on November 17 Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon formally declared a state of emergency, calling in the National Guard and reducing the scope of power for the Ferguson Police Department, which has faced much criticism for their perceived mishandling of the case.

With tensions at an all-time high in Ferguson, some gun dealers in the area are reporting a sharp increase in first time gun buyers, as some residents are arming themselves ahead of the Grand Jury decision that will decide whether officer Darren Wilson will face charges in regards to the fatal slaying of teen Mike Brown.

According to Metro Shooting Supplies owner Steven King, “First-time gun owners account for about 60% of recent customers. We’re selling everything that’s not nailed down.” He adds, “Police aren’t going to be able to protect every single individual. If you don’t prepare yourself and get ready for the worst, you have no one to blame but yourself.”

Beanie Sigel & Young Chris: This Is Roc-A-Fella For Life, I’m Still On The Payroll

Young Chris-Beanie Sigel

“If you’re waiting for the end of the Dynasty sign, it would seem like forever is a mighty long time,” rapped Jay Z on Kanye West’s “Diamonds From Sierra Leone (Remix).” The symbol of the Roc still reigns strong thanks to Jay’s Roc Nation handling the careers of Ye, Rihanna, J. Cole, Jay Electronica, DJ Mustard, Big Sean, and a host of top athletes. But a lot of Hip Hop fans’ best memories of the diamond are connected to the Roc-A-Fella days.

Two of Roc-A-Fella’s premier artists reunited for a new track. Young Chris recruited Beanie Sigel for “Legends Never Die.” The 3-minute song features Chris and Beans trading bars over a Cardiak beat. At one point the Philadelphia natives let the world know they are still down with the Roc and even give a shout out to the big boss Hov.

Young Chris an Beanie Sigel spit:

D’Usse flow. I rock a n*** like H.O./Dig a whole, supply the box for your wake, yo/You know it’s crew love at the end of the day though/And this is Roc-A-Fella for life/I’m still on the payroll

Sierra Leone Surgeon Treated In The U.S. For Ebola Dies

martin salia

A Sierra Leone surgeon that was flown to Nebraska to be treated for Ebola died yesterday (Nov.17), Associated Press reports.

When Dr. Martin Salia began showing symptoms, he was tested for Ebola and his results came back negative, which was incorrect. It took three days for another test, which correctly diagnosed him on Nov. 10th, and then another five days for him to be flown to the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha for treatment last Saturday (Nov. 15). By the time Salia reached the U.S. his kidneys had shut down, which led to breathing difficulties.

“At this point, we can’t say for certain whether it was this misdiagnosis or not that led to his death,” Deputy Information Minister Theo Nicol said in a statement to the AP.

During treatment, Salia was placed on kidney dialysis, a ventilator, received a plasma transfusion from an Ebola survivor and was given several medications, including an experimental Ebola drug called ZMapp.

The 44-year-old was a Maryland native but after graduating from the Pan African Academy of Christian Surgeons training program in 2008, he decided to stay in Sierra Leone to continue his practicing. At the time of his diagnosis, he was working at the Kissy United Methodist Hospital in the Sierra Leone.

Salia was the 10th patient to receive care for the virus on American soil.

Director Of Nicki Minaj’s “Only” Lyric Video Blames The Media For Nazism Controversy

nicki only

After Nicki Minaj stated that she would never include Nazi imagery in her “Only” lyric video, the video’s director Jeff M. Osborne came out and stated the he did purposely include references to Adolf Hitler’s Third Reich regime in the clip. Osborne was a guest on Alex Jones’ radio program recently to speak about the criticism surrounding the “Only” video.

“I wasn’t expecting this type of reaction, because this type of imagery is all over the place,” said Osborne. “I don’t know what it specifically was, whether it was too straight forward. I was getting hate mail, tweets. Just because someone does that I’m not going to back down in what I believe in. Also, I’m not anti-Semitic.”

Osborne added that the point of the video was to show that totalitarianism still exists today. He also placed blame on the media for creating the controversy surrounding the visuals.

“You can tell that media has just become very fast, lacks integrity, and just really jumping on something to cause a stir rather than tell the truth,” stated the director. He later added, “I think the media is part of the problem, because they just take something and try to spin it to cause backlash and basically separate people and cause misunderstanding.”

Osborne revealed that he never actually spoke face-to-face with Nicki Minaj about the video’s theme. According to the visual artist, he was sent information about the concept of the video, and he added his artistic interpretation to it. Osborne suggested that Nicki’s team may not have understood the full message he was trying to convey with the various images displayed in the video.

Nicki Minaj’s Credit Score Takes A Hit After Social Security Number Leaked On NYPD Document

Nicki Minaj1

Besides facing criticism for the lyric video to her single “Only,” Nicki Minaj has other issues mounting as well. According to Radar Online, the Young Money rapper suffered a huge drop in her credit rating after her social security number was mistakenly leaked.

Apparently, a website forgot to redact the private information when a 2003 booking report for Minaj (born Onika Maraj) was published earlier this month.

A New York City Police Department’s booking photo showed that the then 20-year-old Queens native was arrested for the misdemeanor charge of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree. Nicki’s #SSN becoming public has apparently led to other people using the information.

“Nicki’s credit score dropped almost 100 points soon after, because there were many inquiries into her financial records,” a source told Radar. “The credit reporting agencies, detecting a lot of irregular activity, immediately notified Nicki’s camp.”

The source added that Nicki may have to get another social security number and the situation has been very stressful for the “Anaconda” performer.

While dealing with this financial problem, Nicki continues to move forward with the release of her third studio album. The Pinkprint is scheduled for release on December 15. She recently dropped the LPs’s fourth single “Bed of Lies”

Migos Gets Robbed By Chief Keef’s GBE During Brawl That Ended In Bloodbath

migos

Migos and Chief Keef’s Glory Boyz Entertainment (GBE) posse have been at war for almost a year now and last night (Nov. 15) their beef turned bloody.

While Migos was performing at the Washington D.C. club Stadium, GBE and the Atlanta trio were involved in a brawl and it ended in what a AHH source called a “bloodbath.” In a now deleted Instagram post, Chief Keef posted a picture holding Migos member Quavo’s chain, but it’s unknown who exactly in the crew took it.

“Nobody really knows who did it,” says our source. “It was like 40 people that beat on Migos, strippers and all. It’s about to be some east coast vs. west coast s**t again.”

From what our source says, it seems that Quavo was the main one involved in the brawl. Migos did not have security with them.

The two rap crews have been beefing more via Twitter lately and things heated up last week when GBE member Capo took to Twitter to detail an altercation he had with Migos while Fredo Santana chimed in with death threats.

Migos Soft as hell Y’all Jus Had 20 niggas And I was by myself Fuck niggas! Link

The Chi-town clique and Migos have been at odds ever since Chief Keef took a line from Migos’ song “Offset” as a diss to his daughter last year.

Timbaland & Aaliyah Fans Go In On Wendy Williams & Lifetime For Biopic

Aaliyah Biopic

Last night (November 15) Lifetime aired its much-talked about Aaliyah biopic, and the response on social media was overwhelmingly negative. The R&B singer’s fans were not happy with the depiction, and Baby Girl’s close friend/producer Timbaland addressed the project and the movie’s producer Wendy Williams.

Twitter and Instagram were flooded with memes featuring the trending topics #LifetimeBeLike and #LifeTimeBiopics that clowned the casting choices for the film. Williams’ IG page was also hit with comments bashing the talk show host.

At one point Williams even sent out a tweet that gave the wrong title of one of Aaliyah’s most popular songs. She wrote, “’Let Me Know’ is my favorite Aaliyah song! What’s yours? #AaliyahMovie,” referring to the Detroit native’s remake of The Isley Brothers’ “At Your Best (You Are Love).” The error led to even more backlash aimed at Wendy.

Check out some of the posts about Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B below.

Bill Cosby Was Completely Silent About Alleged Sexual Assault Charges on NPR

Bill Cosby Was Completely Silent About Alleged Sexual Assault Charges on NPR

Well, it look’s like Hannibal Buress has definitely caused an uproar after his comedic thoughts on Bill Cosby’s past alleged sexual assault charges. After a week of a failed meme generator on Twitter, and the Washington Post’s column regarding one of his alleged victims, things tend to have gotten worst for the legendary comedian through NPR. This morning, Bill Cosby and his wife Camille appeared on Weekend Edition with host Scott Simon on NPR to talk about their art collection. However, at the near end of the show, Simon had to ask Bill Cosby about the resurface of his alleged charges, and there was silence:

SCOTT SIMON: “This question gives me no pleasure Mr. Cosby, but there have been serious allegations raised about you in recent days.”

BILL COSBY: [SILENCE]

SIMON: “You’re shaking your head no. I’m in the news business. I have to ask the question. Do you have any response to those charges?”

COSBY: [SILENCE]

SIMON: “Shaking your head no. There are people who love you who might like to hear from you about this. I want to give you the chance.”

COSBY: [SILENCE]

SIMON: “Alright. Camille and Bill Cosby. They have lent 62 pieces from their collection of African and African-American art to create an exhibit called Conversations: African and African American Artworks in Dialogue. It’s now on display at the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art through early 2016. Thank you both.”

As a result of this morning’s happenings, Bill Cosby’s appearance on David Letterman November 19th has been cancelled. As this story continues to get worst, we’ll keep you updated.

BET Announces The End Of 106 & Park

bow wow

It’s the end of an era. After 14 years, BET has decided to pull the plug on it’s long running 106 & Park show in favor of a digital only format.

Launched in 2000 as an alternative to MTVs Total Recall, the countdown became a platform for new Hip Hop & R&B, as entertainers and actors alike used the show to connect with a younger generation. First made famous by original hosts Free and AJ, the show has since seen Big Tigger, Julissa, Terrence J, Rocsi Diaz, Miss Mykie, Bow Wow, Keshia Chante and more take over hosting duties.

BET’s President of Music Programming & Specials released the following statement:

“AJ accepting Janet Jackson’s challenge to…dance. Bow Wow laying that kiss on Tyra Banks (or was it the other way around?). Free crawling around the set LIKE Catwoman WITH Catwoman Halle Berry. Julissa’s taking over Halloween as “Wonder Woman”. Keshia brilliantly bonding with First Lady Michelle Obama. Paigion flying around the world with Rihanna on a 777. Rocsi salsa dancing with Victor Cruz and putting him to shame. Shorty and Ms. Mykie’s killer rap “The History of Justin Timberlake”, visibly thrilling JT himself. Terrence on the beat boxing while Jamie Foxx rhymed. Tigger making Tom Cruise do the of-the-moment “motorcycle dance.”

It’s been a great 14 year run as America’s top music/variety show on cable. And now that very valuable brand is going to take its talents to the digital realm. The interactive brand you helped build, 106 & Park, is alive and well…and it’s moving to the space in which our audience NOW interacts with music the most; online. It’ll be very exciting to connect with the millions of people that are already engaged with 106 & Park and other BET digital and social media entities and bring content that will further evolve the 106 & Park brand…and enhance the overall BET Networks brand. As we transition to the digital space, we look to continue 106 & Park’s role as both a leader of and a mirror to youth culture. We’ll have more information to share about how that is to roll out very soon.”

Ty Dolla $ign’s tour bus was the subject of a drug investigation on Wednesday morning (Nov. 12), KWWL reports. While on its way to Cedar Rapids, IA for his next performance on his “In Too Deep” tour, Ty’s tour bus was slowing down due to equipment failure. Police officers pulled over to ensure that everything was okay but ended up having to investigate after they smelled marijuana. During the search, cops and a K-9 found 42 grams of marijuana, 18 grams of Butane Hash Oil and 28 drug paraphernalia items.

There were 12 people on the tour bus and seven of them received citations and December court dates. One of Ty’s reps told TMZ that the “Paranoid” singer was in fact on a flight to Omaha and was not on the bus and did not receive a citation. He is expected to pay a $500 fine.
