Soulja Boy Is At It Again With Claim He Has Quavo's Chain

Soulja Boy Is At It Again With Claim He Has Quavo

Doing what he does best, Soulja Boy trolled the internet once again claiming to have Quavo‘s Quality Control chain Friday (December 9). Soulja shared a (now deleted) shot of himself wearing the chain that bears the initials of the Atlanta label with the caption “If Quavo want his chain back tell him to come get it.”

He also shared a photo from a mysterious Instagram account with the username @topshottaaaya (whose photos have also now been deleted), that claimed to have the Migos member’s chain, allegedly snatched from Rich the Kid when he was in Holland. They also shared a picture of a Dreamchasers chain allegedly from Meek Mill’s camp.

Despite the claim, it doesn’t appear like Quavo will have to holla at Soulja Boy for “his” chain since he’s still rocking his own, even more iced-out Quality Control chain, which he confirmed was still in his possession with a simple video post to Instagram. It’s the same chain he can be seen wearing in the Atlanta trio’s latest visual “Bad and Boujee” featuring Lil Uzi Vert.

However, the chain Soulja Boy is rocking does appear to be the same one that Quavo was wearing earlier this year in Kid Red’s “Bounce” video featuring Chris Brown and the rest of the Migos.

Rich The Kid has also posed for IG photos in a similar chain, though not recently.

The beef between Quavo and Soulja apparently stems from the Migos member declining to hang out with the SODMG boss. Since then, the rapper born DeAndre Way, has been blasting Quavo on social media and threatening him with heavy artillery in a full diss track.

Soulja Boy Posts Photo Allegedly Wearing Quavo's Stolen Chain

Soulja Boy isn't letting up on his string of recent beefs. Over the last few weeks, he's instigated feuds with Lil Yachty, Shia LaBeouf, and most recently, Quavo, who he addressed a diss track to last week. In a new development, Soulja now claims to have possession of the Migos rapper's stolen chain.

In the midst of all his beefs, apparently #SouljaBoy still had time to take #Quavo's chain 😩

An Instagram user who goes by @Topshottaaya seems to have contacted Soulja, claiming that he had Quavo's chain. Later on, Soulja posted a picture of himself rocking the same QC The Label chain on his own IG.

In a speculated response, Quavo put up some video footage of his collection of jewelry on Instagram, including a similar QC piece. Meanwhile, Soulja has deleted his post.

In 2014, it was reported that Quavo had his chain taken at a show in DC. It is unclear if the event is related to this development.

Shirley Caesar Sues DJ Suede Over Unauthorized #UNameItChallenge Song

Shirley Caesar Sues DJ Suede Over Unauthorized #UNameItChallenge Song

Lawrenceville, GA – Not on Pastor Shirley Caesar’s watch! The Grammy Award-winning gospel singer is currently preparing to take DJ Suede to court over an unauthorized remix of her sermon-song “Hold My Mule” making its way to iTunes without her approval.

Accumulating millions of views on Facebook, the catchy Thanksgiving #UNameItChallenge tune became a viral sensation this year as a clip of the respected pastor singing about having beans, greens, potatoes and tomatoes during a sermon from a video uploaded to YouTube six years ago made the rounds on social media.

Her legal team claims the video led to more than $5 million in losses. “DJ Suede and his management were in conversations with her lawyer. They didn’t reach an agreement and they put it out anyway,” a member of the team revealed to CBS46.

Caesar didn’t appreciate the raunchiness that accompanied the RemixGodSuede’s version of the song, which featured twerking and alcohol in the remix video. Her lawyers say the clip “violate[s] the brand, image and name of a Christian pastor.” The only rendition she approved of was a version with Snoop Dogg, who had the decency to reach out to her team before creating and releasing his own respectable remix. Snoop and Caesar were reportedly in talks for a deal to bring any proceeds from Snoop’s version to a charity that feeds the hungry. Caesar’s team claims that DJ Suede’s version interfered with that.

The lawsuit was filed this week in Gwinnett County and accuses DJ Suede (born Keenan Webb), Jullian Boothe and Empire Distribution of releasing an unauthorized version of the cut.

In an exclusive interview with HipHopDX last month, DJ Suede responded to the backlash he received from turning Pastor Shirley’s song into something she would never approve of.

“I can respect the fact that she doesn’t want twerking and gyrating going on,” he said. “At the end of the day, they’re going to do whatever they want to the record. It’s one of those records that make you want to dance anyway.”

As of the time of this writing, the video and song DJ Suede remixed still available. The case will go to court on December 21.

Lil Yachty Is On The Front Page Of The New York Times Style Section

Well now. On top of a new clothing collection, mercurial internet sensation Lil Yachty is capping off a very successful 2016 with an appearance in the storied pages of the New York Times Style Section. The  extended piece on the rapper, we learn about his experiences with fame and see him styled in a number of high end brands.

Throughout the piece, we learn of Yachty’s unshakable confidence in himself. “I always knew I was going to be something,” he says in the article. “I didn’t know what.” As he goes on, it’s clear his self-perception is still shifting. “I’m not a rapper, I’m an artist,” he continues, “and I ‘m more than an artist, I’m a brand.”

He also proclaims himself (again) as the “the face of the youth” and “the new sound,” a much debated statement that will probably only serve to drive Lil Yachty’s fame even higher. One fascinating detail about his youth we hadn’t heard yet is that his father Shannon McCollum worked as a photographer for acts like Outkast, Goodie Mob and Lil Jon, giving Yachty and early sense of style. His father also took photos of him weekly as a child, and says that “by 3 or 4, he was so comfortable in front of a camera.”
