#SouljaBoyChallenge: Joe Budden & Others Spoof Soulja Boy's Robbery Story

Soulja Boy’s retelling of his 2008 home invasion robbery and shootout made the Internet rounds earlier this week, and the added new details were astonishing. Joe Budden, never one to pass up a good dig, spoofed Soulja’s story as part of the hilarious #SouljaBoyChallenge meme showdown.

Budden’s version of Soulja Boy’s VladTV interview mimics the moment almost to a T except Budden adds several over-the-top wrinkles to the story. Without breaking character, a subdued Budden is seen speaking to an unseen person meant to portray DJ Vlad and runs down a story of how he was showering when 90 men barged into his home.

With a straight face, Budden continues the story, where he grabs a pistol from under the sink and starts wildly busting off shots while some of the robbers fall into his pool where he finishes the job while walking on water and leaving the assailants laid to waste.

Other celebrities and social media users are joining in on the fun, with the likes of comedian Mike Epps, social media star DC Young Fly and several others telling their own stories. We’ve collected some of the best for viewing below.

Red Bull BC One World Finals B-Boy Champion Issei Recalls Moment He Was Declared Winner

Kurume, JP – On December 3, the best B-Boys in the world descended on the Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium in Nagoya, Japan for the Red Bull BC One World Finals to battle it out for the championship title. Defending champion Victor Montalvo was an easy favorite, but there were 16 other dedicated athletes ready to take him down, which is exactly what happened. Japanese B-Boy Issei Hori came through and won the title on his home turf, marking only the second time that’s happened in the event’s history. With help of a translator, Issei, who fell in love with B-Boying at 8 years old and came in second place at the 2015 BC One Asia Pacific Finals, was able to talk about what it felt like the moment his name was announced as the winner.

“I felt a huge relief,” Issei tells DX. “I was like, ‘It’s done!’ All this time I was like, ‘I want to go home now’ while waiting for the judges to reveal the result. I met [Montalvo] a couple of times at the battle venue and he didn’t look great. He didn’t have his momentum.”

Confidence is a huge factor in the art of B-Boying. The judges look for not only originality in the routine, but also personality and swagger. As a kid, Issei loved spinning on the floor and practicing and quickly realized it was what he wanted to do.

“I was just a one-lesson student,” he says. “But I remember looking at senior teachers’ showcases when I was younger and I thought it was cool, although I didn’t think I could be the one back then. I remember [my first battle] so clearly. I was 8 years old and I participated in a 1-on-1 battle in Kurume [Japan]. B-Boy Taisuke san and B-Boy Toshiki san were the judges.”

The battle was a defining moment for his career.

“It was so much fun and I got second place. Maybe my ‘always-finishing-second-place jinx’ started from there,” he laughs.

In addition to his love of B-Boying, Issei is attracted to other elements of Hip Hop. Turntablism, graffiti and rhyming have always been intriguing to Issei throughout his life.

“I like going to see rap battles from time to time,” he says. “I like to go and stand next to DJ, watching their skills and techniques. I enjoyed the environment of graffiti walls when I visited the United States. I feel ‘art’ every time I meet a person with a good sense in general.”

When it came time to start training for the 2016 Red Bull event, surprisingly Issei didn’t spend endless hours in the studio practicing. He simply did what he normally does.

“I went to the studio twice a week—that’s all,” he admits. “But I was participating in so many battles before Red Bull BC One World Finals, so it may have helped gearing myself up. Maybe.”

Issei is focused on training for the 2017 Red Bull BC One World Championship and has clearly outlined his goal. “I want to win next year’s Red Bull BC One World Championship and get the first back-to-back world title,” he says.

Kanye West Reportedly Been Hitting The Gym 5-6 Times A Week To Help With His Recovery

It looks like working out has become a vital component in Kanye West’s mental recovery these days. According to TMZ, Yeezy has been hitting the gym 5-6 times a week since being released from the hospital to help with his mindset.

Kanye's been working out with celeb trainer Don Brooks, who's also worked with Kim, Kourtney and Khloe, and there workouts include resistance training with bands, jump rope, and some one-on-one bball (as seen in the pic above). Switching between 'Ye's home gym and local spots, each session can reportedly last up to two hours long too.

Sources told TMZ that Kanye has been very “present” with Kim & the kids lately, and a big part of that can be thanked to his workouts & letting go of his frustrations in the weight room.

Funkmaster Flex Drops Bombs On Drake Following J-Lo Pic

Hot 97 radio personality Funkmaster Flex appeared torn yesterday (December 28) and early today (December 29), after both Drake and Jennifer Lopez shared the same intimate picture on Instagram.

Flex initially praised Drake for his “major win,” posting the picture of the Instagram-official couple to his IG page.

“Fellas let’s take time out to recognize that this is a major win right here!!! So super clean!!!!!! #Jlo top 5 at any age!!!! ( We don’t hate… as you Weirdos and Super Stans would like to think ) I just call it at I see it!!!!!!” Flex wrote in his caption.

But hours later, the disc jockey let loose a brief rant on Twitter, taking aim directly at Drizzy’s jugular.

Flex’s Twitter tirade could have possibly come about after internet sleuths discovered that Drake and J-Lo posted their matching photos on the 17th anniversary of Jennifer’s infamous arrest with Puff Daddy.

“JLo is nice.. but my mans hit 17yrs ago.. these new sensitive nigga think we sweat pussy like them.. nah…JLo? That’s the get back for a punch in the face? Years ago, Drake and Puff were in the middle of a feud with one another when their beef reportedly reached its peak during a scuffle at a club in Miami.

Flex continued to take aim at Drake on Twitter, suggesting that he waited for the anniversary of Puff and J-Lo’s arrest to post his photo with the Bronx singer.

Mike WiLL Made-It Releases 2016 Beats Collection

We’ve already gifted our Producer of the Year award to Kaytranada, but Mike WiLL Made-It was definitely in our discussion for his prolific 2016. The EarDrummer boss yesterday (December 27) released a collection of all of his beats this year as part of his Instrumental Tuesdays series.

Mike WiLL was instrumental (no pun intended) in assisting with Gucci Mane’s monster comeback this year and Guwop’s “Pop Music,” “Pussy Print,” and “No Sleep” are among the 35 tracks on the project.

Perhaps the Atlanta producer’s biggest record of 2016 was Rae Sremmurd’s “Black Beatles,” which landed the Mississippi duo on top of Billboard’s Hot 100 list and gave Gucci his first spot at the top of the chart as well.

Veteran Comedian & Memorable Hip Hop Skit Personality Ricky Harris Passes Away

The Hip Hop community is sadly reminded that 2016 isn’t officially over losing beloved entertainers. Comedian, actor, and producer Ricky Harris died of a sudden heart attack on Tuesday (December 26), according to Okayplayer and confirmed by his family on social media. He was 54.

Harris is widely known to rap fans for his hilarious cameo appearances as a 1970s gold tooth-capped nightclub owner in Snoop Dogg’s “Doggy Dogg World” video and Snoop’s grey-haired father in “Gin and Juice.” He’s notably remembered for his roles as the faux radio host DJ EZ Dicc and Saul-T-Nuts on WBALLZ radio station for the skits on Snoop’s “Aint No Fun (If The Homies Cant Have None)” and “Tha Shiznit” off his landmark debut Doggystyle and on Tha Dogg Pound’s seminal LP Dogg Food.

The funnyman originated his character on Ice Cube’s “Turn Off The Radio” from his 1990 solo debut album Amerikkka’s Most Wanted.

Harris’ other notable appearances on the silver screen were in Poetic Justice, Heat, Dope, and This Christmas. Harris also had TV roles on NYPD Blue, CSI: Miami, Everybody Hates Chris and The People Vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.

The comedian began his career at the Comedy Act Theatre in the Crenshaw section of Los Angeles in the late 1980s, where he used to deejay. Comedy legend Robin Harris was the MC of the club, and also gave Ricky his start performing on stage in the same schedule as other 1980s chitlin circuit comics including Robert Townsend, Steve Harvey, Eddie Murphy, Cedric The Entertainer and Sinbad. Ricky is most known for performing on 1990s comedy staples Def Comedy Jam and BET’s Comic View.

Left Coast legends such Snoop Dogg, Warren G, Big Tray Deee and DJ Pooh posted their condolences on Instagram and Twitter upon the sad news of their longtime friend’s passing. Also, Questlove, Chuck D and Kid Capri tweeted their personal memories about Harris, and comedy favorites J.B. Smoove and Cedric The Entertainer spoke on his legacy.

Troy Ave Shot In Brooklyn

Troy Ave, who dropped off his new mixtape White Christmas 4 just the other day, was reportedly shot while driving in Brooklyn on Christmas day.

The New York rapper was reportedly driving in his red Maserati at around 4:20 PM when he was stricken by a bullet on his arm, and another grazed his head, before he crashed his vehicle into a parked car. The incident occurred on E 91st St & Linden Blvd. 

The 31-year old MC is currently at Brookdale Hospital, in stable condition. He's expected to survive his wounds. Troy Ave's lawyer spoke on the shooting in a statement to Billboard, elaborating on the circumstances.

"Tonight, Troy Ave was targeted again… on Christmas," his attorney Scott Leemon said, "In Booklyn, going to meet his family for the holiday, he was shot two times. Thankfully, he will survive the second attempt on his life. As we have said from the beginning — he is a victim. We pray for his speedy recovery."

Troy Ave Shot In Arm & Head While On His Way To Visit Family For Christmas

Brooklyn, NY – Troy Ave was reportedly shot in the arm and a bullet grazed his head while on his way to visit his family for Christmas in Brooklyn, according to News 12.

The 31-year-old artist, born Roland Collins, was reportedly riding in a red Maserati on E 91st St & Linden Blvd around 4:20 p.m. when he was shot and then crashed into a parked car.

He is currently in stable condition at Brookdale Hospital and is expected to survive his injuries, according to his lawyer.

The rapper was indicted for his alleged involvement in the shooting, although he maintains he was acting in self-defense. He is in the process of suing Live Nation and Irving Plaza for unspecified damages, legal fees for “negligence.”

He was also recently the victim of an extortion plot over an alleged stolen sex tape.

Beyonce & Adele Scheduled To Perform At The 2017 Grammy's

It goes without saying that the Grammy’s always put on a great show, but this year’s event may be shaping up to be one of the best in years. On Friday, it was revealed that two of music’s biggest voices, Beyonce & Adele, will both be taking the stage to perform.

US Weekly reports that the performances were confirmed by the show’s executive producer Ken Ehrlich, who said it’s very hard to say no to the Grammy’s. “Very few people say no to the Grammys. Over all of the years I’ve been doing the show, there have been three or four acts who’ve actually said no,” Ehrlich stated.

In addition to the performances, Beyonce & Adele are both heavily nominated for the award show as well, with Beyonce leading all artists with 9 nods & Adele behind her with 5.

Apple Music's Larry Jackson Says Black Artists Have Ushered In New Era Of Pop Music

Apple Music executive Larry Jackson has explained how black artists have changed the face of pop music in the last few years in an interview with the New York Times.

Apple’s streaming service had a big 2016, working closely with Drake in promoting his VIEWS album — which became the first to reach a billion streams on Apple Music. The record was premiered on Apple Music’s OVO Sound Radio and released exclusively through the Apple streaming service and iTunes.

Asked about the surge in streaming for Hip __hop and R&B artists, Jackson explained how the popularity of black artists has changed the very face of music. It’s a change Jackson has seen happen over the years, and he says that rap has nearly overtaken rock music among young audiences.

“From my perspective and from Jimmy’s, we’ve always had a very strong knack for signing and nurturing hip-hop and R&B acts. The thing I find more interesting now is: What’s the new pop? Pop has always been considered to be one thing, if you know what I’m saying. But when I look at the top albums of the year — it’s Drake, Beyoncé, J. Cole, Frank Ocean and the Weeknd — all black artists. How is that not pop? You don’t really hear Frank Ocean or J. Cole on pop radio, but streaming has ushered in what the new pop is.”

Speaking on the release of The Life Of Pablo through TIDAL, Apple’s Jimmy Iovine explained that “[Kanye] was part of Jay’s thing and chose to make a deal with his friend, and I respect that. I kind of felt like it was going to happen before it did.”

J. Cole’s Manager Says Controversy Surrounding “Déjà Vu” Beat Was None Of Their Concern

With all the excitement that surrounded J. Cole’s new album 4 Your Eyez Only, there was also some controversy that unsued in the days after it’s release as well.

ICYMI, producers Vinylz & Boi-1da called out producer Foreign Tek for his work on Cole’s “Déjà Vu” instrumental, which they felt was stolen from their work on Bryson Tiller’s “Exchange” smash. However, Tek claims that’s not the case & he created the beat on his own. Both of the tracks share the similarity of the sample of K.P. and Envyi's 1998 track “Swing My Way,” so the confusion could’ve easily been mistaken.

So what did J. Cole’s camp think of all the "Deja Vu" drama? It wasn’t much of their concern really. In an interview with Billboard, producer & Dreamville manager, Ibrahim "Ib" Hamad explained their decision to use “Deja Vu” for the album, despite all the similarities to Bryson Tiller’s record.

“I wouldn’t say there was any hesitation because I felt like it’s just two totally different songs. We had already made 'Déjà Vu,' like that song was literally made for his last album [2014 Forest Hills Drive] and we just knew it would fit better because of the story he wanted to tell on the album,” Hamad said. “Cole had already made the song, so when Bryson’s album came out and we heard it, it was a feeling like, ‘Damn, he used the same sample.’ But to Cole, it don’t matter. He’s not competing with Bryson. What Bryson’s song did was incredible, and to Cole, it was like, ‘It’s a part of the story I want to tell, so I’m gonna use [the beat].’ We didn’t really know the backstory at the time of what happened with Vinylz and Boi1da and [ForeignTeck] who made the beat. That was none of our concern.”

Hamad also told Billboard that the first two leaks from the documentary, “False Prophets” and “Everybody Dies,” were originally intended to be on the album, but didn’t make the final cut because Jermaine didn’t believe they went with the project’s story.

“The album was initially like 13, 14 songs and then just at the last second, we kind of were like, ‘Look, if we’re trying to tell a story, let’s just make it as clear as possible and cut it down to that.’ So when we cut out ‘False Prophets’ and ‘Everybody Dies,’ it really hurt,” Hamad said. “[…] We really wanted [the songs] on the album and it was like we still wanted people to hear it but we didn’t want to put the music out because we knew it wasn’t a real representation of the album.”

Petition Calls To Remove R. Kelly From Soulquarius Festival 2017

The lineup for the first annual Soulquarius Festival was announced yesterday (December 19). The event, scheduled for February 18 in Santa Ana, California, is set to be headlined by R. Kelly and Erykah Badu, with the likes of Ja Rule & Ashanti, Jhené Aiko, The Pharcyde, The-Dream and more than a dozen other acts also booked to perform.

However, less than 24 hours after the lineup was announced, a petition has surfaced on Change.org calling for R. Kelly to be removed from the festival. The petition, titled “Kick R.Kelly’s rapist ass off the SOULQUARIUS lineup,” has garnered more than 1,000 signatures since it launched. The goal is currently set at 1,500.

The writeup for the petition reads:

“The Observatory venue of Orange County released an awesome lineup for their SOULQUARIUS event February 18th, with the exception of R.Kelly. Despite an endless flood of abuse allegations and widespread knowledge of his notorious ‘romance’ with the late singer Aaliyah, who was age 15 to his 27 years, Kelly has maintained a relatively successful career. It’s this sort of nonchalance and casual embrace of abusers that rests at the fulcrum of rape culture, violence against women, and in this case, misogynoir. 2017 is around the corner and many of us still have to look on in disgust as a proven predator, rapist, and serial abuser of young Black girls and women remains embraced in the world of music. Stop booking this man. Stop supporting this man. There’s great power in having a voice. Let’s send a message that the music is not ‘separate’ and the abuse of girls and women is *never* okay, no matter who you are or how many timeless ballads you’ve contributed to the world.”

Staff Members At UCLA Med Center Reportedly In Trouble For Trying To Access Kanye West’s Info

According to sources close to TMZ, it looks like numerous staff employees at UCLA medical center, where Kanye West stayed at for a week, are in jeopardy of losing their jobs after trying to look up Kanye West’s information & records on the computer.

One source reportedly told TMZ that several dozen people have been or will be fired, meanwhile another sources simply said the investigation is ongoing, but they do expect firings.

Kanye’s sources have not been contacted, and this looks to be solely an UCLA personnel issue at the moment, but the temptation was cleary too much for some people. Would you be tempted to look into Kanye’s records if had the access?

Daz Dillinger Hints At New Dogg Pound LP & Announces Return To Producing

Daz Dillinger, one-half of Tha Dogg Pound, took to Instagram over the weekend and boasted about his production talents while throwing around his veteran status. The beat maker and MC also hinted at a new Dogg Pound album with his partner in rhyme Kurupt, and the pair were seen traveling together recently as well.

Daz posted up the following message to his Instagram on Sunday complete with an image of a 12-inch single for the track “Wanted Dead Or Alive” by 2Pac and Snoop Doggy Dogg from the Gridlock’d soundtrack:

“THIS YEAR IM BAC PRODUCING CANT LET THESE YOUNG NIGGA GET IT ALL I GOT SLAPPPERZ NEW DPG DOGGPOUND ALBUM.”

A look at Daz’s resume highlights that he has indeed put that work in on the production side, including handling the bulk of the beats on Tha Dogg Pound’s debut album, Dogg Food.

Fans of DPG will also remember that Daz produced a number of tracks on the first disc of 2Pac’s All Eyez On Me album under the name Dat Nigga Daz and has been quite prolific as a soloist with more than a dozen solo albums and an array of EPs, collaborative projects and mixtapes to his name. As Tha Dogg Pound, Daz and Kurupt have dropped seven studio albums together.

The duo’s newest project is tentatively titled Daz N Kurupt, Kurupt N Daz. The album name was teased at the top of the year via their Soundcloud page.

Birdman Might Be Celebrating Cash Money's 20th Anniversary Tour Without Lil Wayne

Birdman is preparing to celebrate 20 years of Cash Money Records with an extensive tour, but the job might have to be done without one of the label’s most famous faces, Lil Wayne.

According to TMZ, Birdman is planning to take his roster on tour early next year and has given an open invitation to Weezy, but the current legal battle between the two has put a big question mark on that.

Otherwise, Baby has Mannie Fresh, Juvenile and Turk on board for the tour. He will also showcase his upcoming talent, probably including Jacquees and Trev Rich.

This year, Wayne has done nothing but separate himself from his former father figure. He’s blasted him at shows and in his lyrics. The beef started two years ago when Weezy claimed he wanted off Cash Money and “nothing to do with these people”, saying that the label was blocking the release of Tha Carter V.

Cash Money released the first Hot Boys album, Get It How U Live!! in 1997 featuring Lil Wayne, Juvenile, Turk and B.G. That same year, Juvenile dropped his solo LP, Solja Rags.

Nearly two decades later, Cash Money dominated the charts in 2016 with Drake’s VIEWS, which spent 30 weeks in the Top 10 of Billboard’s Top 200 albums chart and is now certified four times platinum.

Gucci Mane Weighs In On Kanye West's Meeting With Donald Trump

Gucci Mane just dropped his new album The Return Of East Atlanta Santa, but he's still always thinking a few steps ahead. After stopping by the Breakfast Club earlier, Gucci also spoke to Complex, where he covered a few of the same topics, as well as some new ones. 

Early on, he spoke of the difference in approach he took with his new album, which found him freestyling a lot more, a return to his normal writing style after recording some rhymes he wrote in jail. 

"It was kind of rigid," he said of the recording of his first two post-prison albums. "When I write a rap and record it, I always feel like it sounds like I'm reading. When I go in the studio without a pad and pen and freestyle. To me it sounds better. I can just tell. I'm more comfortable with just going into the booth and just letting it come out, rather than trying structure it so neat."

After that, he was asked about the artists he'd like to work with in the future, who were surprisingly pop-leaning. "Rihanna, I like The Weeknd, I like Bruno Mars, Jay Z," he revealed.

Of course, the hot topic question was about Kanye's visit to Donald Trump, which Gucci didn't have too strong of an opinion on. "I just feel like with Kanye, he don’t need my approval or nobody else’s. so my opinion really ain’t going to matter. Everybody got an opinion—good or bad. Kanye don’t need nobody approval to live his life. If you don’t agree, then that’s cool you don’t agree. But that’s not going to stop him from doing what he do. He’s going to do whatever he’s going to do because that’s him.”

Future Says Jay Z’s “Reasonable Doubt” Wasn’t Hot Until Biggie & Tupac Died

Well here’s an interesting clip that will probably get blown out of proportion per usual. On Wednesday, music executive Steve Stoute shared a couple clips on Instagram of him and the likes of Lebron James, James Harden, Hot 97’s Ebro & Future all chopping it up in the barber shop. But there’s one particular clip that’s been getting a shit ton of attention today and that’s of Future talking about Jay Z’s Reasonable Doubt album, which he claimed wasn’t hot until Biggie & Pac died.

“It wasn’t hot until they died,” Future says about the album. “Nobody really was jamming it. It’s flames. Like it’s hard, it’s a classic, but I’m saying at that time.”

Future claimed that Hov “wasn’t great” when Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G. were alive. The Atlanta rapper cited Biggie, Tupac and Ice Cube as the top rappers of that era, while praising Nas & Illmatic in the process. “It’s like your classic album, they always go back for your classic album,” Future said. “When Nas dropped his first album, it was great then. Like when ‘I Ruled the World’ came out, it was the best then. You had to go back and listen to Reasonable Doubt. That’s his best shit ever.”

Kim Kardashian Reportedly Declined To Accompany Kanye West To Trump Tower

Kanye West met with president-elect Trump yesterday, a couple of weeks after he got out of the hospital following a reported mental breakdown. Kanye had spoken on his support of Trump during a "Saint Pablo" show shortly before his hospitalization, and some took the endorsement to be a sign of his unraveling mental state. After their meeting, Kanye went on Twitter for the first time in nearly two months to explain that he had talked to Trump about "multicultural issues" and stopping violence in Chicago, among other things. He was accompanied to the meeting by Corey Gamble, the 35-year-old boyfriend of Kris Jenner.

Gamble's presence at Trump Tower was requested by Jenner and Kim Kardashian, reports Hollywood Life. The ladies wanted Gamble to keep an eye on Kanye and to report back to them on everything that went down at his meeting with the soon-to-be president. Kim was apparently invited to the meeting as well, says an inside source, but she declined for "several reasons" -- "mostly because she is not a supporter of Trump." 

Going off Kanye's latest tweets, it seems the meeting went smoothly and that there was some constructive dialogue between the two egomaniacs. Many were left confused by Kanye's last tweet, however, which was simply the hashtag "2024." Up until now, Kanye had intended to make a run for the White House in 2020. Perhaps Trump convinced him to wait one more term? 

Yasiin Bey & Ferrari Sheppard Fans Get Cryptic Message Rather Than Expected Album

Yasiin Bey (the rapper formerly known as Mos Def) and producer Ferrari Sheppard were preparing to release their collaborative album, Dec. 99th last Friday (December 9), but days later the project is nowhere to be found.

After a few days of silence on social media from both artists, Sheppard gave an update to the release of the LP on his Facebook page Sunday (December 11) that said the following:

“Yes, the album is coming out. Delay not my fault…”

Bey and Sheppard’s media group, A Country Called Earth, also sent this cryptic message to Pitchfork:

“Dark bodies, bright crest, the kings grew nervous.
A boy drew a gun, and then sold the portrait. And then used the cash to heat the stove at the palace.
soon. very soon.”

Whatever that means…

Dec. 99th was meant to be a TIDAL exclusive as Bey prepares two more albums and is supposedly retiring after that.

Rick Ross Claims Kanye West's Hospitalization Was All A Sham

New York, NY – Kanye West had the world on its knees when he was reportedly hospitalized for exhaustion and paranoia last month.

Not everyone believes Yeezy’s story as Rick Ross spoke to a crowd at A$AP Ferg’s Traplord pop-up shop in New York yesterday (December 11), hinting that West was just fine the whole time.

“One time for Yeezy,” the boss says to an applause from the crowd. “My homie a genius. And for everybody who thought he was weirding out, he played y’all niggas.”

West canceled the remainder of his Saint Pablo Tour in November after making headlines for a series of rants about Donald Trump and Jay Z. He was also balancing his fashion endeavors and family life at the time of his reported mental breakdown.

Did Nicki Minaj & Meek Mill Break Up?

It might be over between Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill.

Nicki hinted that she their relationship ended in a cryptic Instagram post over the weekend: a picture of a pair of Chanel slides, with the caption, “Thank God u blew it. Thank God I dodged the bullet. I’m so over u. Baby good lookin out. #BestThingUNeverHad."

The caption references Beyonce's "Best Thing I Never Had," a song about the end of a toxic relationship and seems to imply strife in Nicki and Meek's relationship, if not its end. Minaj's post came a day after Meek Mill deleted his Instagram and she posted a meme reading "Your value doesn't decrease based on someone's inability to see your worth."

Drake Acts As Security Guard For Jennifer Lopez's Iced-Out Yankees Fitted

Las Vegas, NV – Drake and Jennifer Lopez were all smiles in a face-to-face selfie after the Canadian superstar took in the veteran singer and actress during her Las Vegas performance on Saturday (December 10). J-Lo also posted the same photo to her Instagram page, and she entrusted Drake to the all-important detail of safeguarding her diamond-encrusted baseball cap.

Lopez has been rocking the stage in Vegas since the top of the year during her All I Have residency, and Drizzy was there to support his friend. While there isn’t much in the way of details available online about last night’s showing, the series has been critcally accalimed and has been selling well after becoming the highest grossing event at the Planet Hollywood venue.

But it was the photos that might have people whispering. Drake’s photo was captioned with a heart-eyed emoji followed by “Lotta those” while Lopez captioned hers with “Look who rolled up to my show tonight to say hi!! ” with the hashtag “LoveHim” to boot. This meeting of an iconic singer and actress appears to have gone a lot better than his encounter with Madonna in 2015.

And if there’s any remaining doubt about Lopez’s roots, the hat that Drake held for her was a New York Yankees fitted, of course.
