Rae Sremmurd and Ebro Darden of Hot 97 have had issues ever since Ebro vehemently opposed Complex's ranking of SremmLife at number 3 on their 2015 year end list. Ebro argued that the album lacked substance, and more or less accused the duo of not writing their own rhymes. In response, members Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee released a 20-minute freestyle on Tim Westwood TV, effectively shutting down Ebro's criticisms about their writing. While many words were exchanged from the two parties thereafter, mainly over the generation gap that seems to separate their tastes, they never really buried the hatchet, and their feud has been reignited on Twitter today.
It all seems to have started when a Twitter user pointed Ebro towards the fact that Rae Sremmurd's "Black Beatles" had climbed to #1 on the Hot 100, which Darden promptly insisted was solely due to the Mannequin Challenge meme that propelled the single. He also doubled down on his claim that SremmLife wasn't the #3 album of 2015. Not longer after that, Jxmmi began to retaliate.
@oldmanebro you doing the #MannequinChallenge when you look at them charts huh?

Jxmmi then started tweeting at Lil Yachty, a rapper Ebro also criticized on the air earlier this year.
@lilyachty you better not laugh at @oldmanebro hes a sensitive old person.

Things only got more heated between Jxmmi and Ebro from there.

Eventually, Jxmmi changed his avatar to a picture of a weeping Ebro and his screen name to OldManJxmbo, at which point he began to do a mocking impersonation of the radio personality.
I gotta stop snorting lines on my off time

Meanwhile, Ebro has suggested that he does enjoy the song "Black Beatles," and that his criticism is done to "toughen up" young artists.
Ya'll too sensitive. Song is great. https://t.co/Q4iOpCxJvW
— OldMan Ebro (@oldmanebro) November 15, 2016

Swae Lee has been less vocal about the whole thing, but has sent out a few tweets that seem relevant to the conversation.
Lol why stoop down ?
— Swae Lee Lee Swae (@iHipsterLee) November 15, 2016

— Swae Lee Lee Swae (@iHipsterLee) November 15, 2016
Things have cooled down for the time being, but it's safe to say that Rae Sremmurd and Ebro's problems are far from resolved. Maybe they'll have to work things out on-air?
