Katt Williams Says He Took A Photographer’s Camera Because She Was Being Inappropriate With A Child

KattWilliamsCrop

Earlier this week, Katt Williams and former Death Row CEO Suge Knight were hauled off to jail together over allegedly trying to steal a female photographer’s camera in Beverly Hills back in September.

Katt Williams has since been released and TMZ caught up with him to get to the bottom of what really happened. The Friday After Next  star said he first approached the photog because he was concerned about a child nearby.

“I knew that she was engaged inappropriately with a child,” said the 41-year-old. ” Not with any adult. We’re talking about a five-year-old… She was doing no photographs. She was recording. Her story is clearly she got in an altercation with me, but she didn’t.”

Williams also claims that Suge Knight did not have an altercation with her either.

Since Knight and Williams have lengthy rap sheets, this arrest could lead to both men doing some serious time in prison. Knight faces 30 years while Katt could do up to seven years.

The impact of numerology over the names

Whenever an infant is born into a family, it’s a norm to first assess him/her with a name. The name of a person is just not a word to be referred to them but actually is the definition, a description of their personality and the briefing of their traits. It should be made very sure that while naming a person all the necessary measures are taken care of. They say that labeling of a product is done properly to define the quality of that product. The same theory can be applied upon assessing names to the young ones too. The better the name the more illustrative would be the definition.

While a lot of people who believe in ancestry, name their children on the basis of their legacy or the family trees, while others who believe in Numerology have different opinions. The people who believe in numerology work and practice a lot with numbers before naming their kids. In numerology each letter of your name is said to have an individual corresponding number. Cornerstone is said to be the first letter in your name while capstone is said to be the last one. Under Numerology the first vowel is also given sheer importance, as it is said to fulfill all your urges and dreams in life. Each and every letter in this section has a meaning of its own and preparing a name with all those combine meaningful letters will eventually make out the best desired result. The sum of the numbers in your birth date and the sum of numbers you make out while naming a person displays a great deal in the character, the future, the strengths and the weakness of an individual. Numerology helps in standing and fighting against all these weaknesses and odds. Believers say that numerology make you achieve whatever you want in life, and not just infants, a lot of people change their names in the later stages of their life too after realizing the problems they are suffering in their lives and in order to fight against them. This concept of Numerology was initially brought up by the Babylonians but gradually everyone started practicing it and eventually it became so popular and effective that now it is practiced across almost all over the world. There might be no scientific proofs about the authenticity of these numerology charts, but people still have faith in ample numbers about the relationship of words and numbers.

People also believe that in Numerology the on goings and the redemption is based upon three major factors; the date of birth, the name given to you on your birth and the name you use currently. The third factor can well be managed according to the needs and necessary requirements by the Numerology charts. There are ways to work over your names even if you’re a grown up in order to get over the grey shades you are going through in your personal lives. So everyone needs to go through that Numerology chart while assessing their young ones with new names.

Radio Personality Star Blasts 50 Cent, G-Unit, & ThisIs50 Radio (VIDEO)

Star-50 cent

Troi “Star” Torain is no stranger to controversy. The veteran radio personality has made a career out of being an agitator or as he describes it a “culture critic.” His latest targets are ThisIs50 Radio, 50 Cent, and G-Unit.

Star apparently took issue with Philadelphia rapper Tone Trump’s interview on Thisis50 with Hynaken, DJ Thoro, and Star’s cousin Gossip Viv. While on the program, the Trump Life emcee suggested that Star was “doing bad” and that he was “one of his three listeners.” Trump claimed the two had issues from what he saw as Star setting him up during a radio interview in Philadelphia years ago.

Star used his own show to fire back at Trump and ThisIs50 as well. The Shot97 host referred to the employees at the company as “hoe ass n***as.” Star claimed that someone from the station had G-Unit’s Nelson contact him to squash the situation. He then took shots at 50 Cent and G-unit for participating in Cyndi Lauper’s “Home For The Holidays” benefit concert for homeless LGBT youth.

“50 and G-unit are headlining some f**king gay-lesbian concert,” said Star before shaking his head at the camera. “The f**kery that G-Unit is now doing.”

While he mentioned 50 and his rap crew by name, Star’s harshest words came for the Queens rapper’s other brand.

“Viv called me to say Tone Trump was coming at me. I said, ‘Okay, when is this going to be loaded up?’ You did your little edit job. Your s**t’s not streaming nowhere. You’re a f**king big garbage can,”  expressed Star. “You thought you were just going to put a clip up on me, and I’m just going to say, ‘Ha ha. ThisIs50. G-Unit.’ Motherf**k you! F**k the whole system you got up there. You n***as make about as much money as a Burger King worker with the exception of the fact that a Burger King worker gets a f**king holiday bonus. You bum ass n***as.”

Star does add that he has does not have a problem with Viv or Hynaken. He even suggests that Hynaken could actually make more money going at 50 in YouTube vlogs than what he is currently making at ThisIs50.

Chad Boseman To Bring Marvel’s Long Awaited “Black Panther” Character To Life

b-panther-630x420

The Marvel universe is a large one and the recent success of films like Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor,  The Avengers and X-Men has only opened the doors for more projects to be developed.

One character that has received a fair amount of speculation and attention is Avengers member Black Panther,  long considered to be one of Marvel’s first Black superheroes. (Yes he came before John Stewart’s version of the Green Lantern.)

Actor Chadwick Boseman (known for his recent portrayals of Jackie Robinson and James Brown) has already been tapped to play the role and recently joined  Captain America actor Chris Evans at a studio event where it was revealed that the character  will officially be introduced in Captain America: Civil War, which is slated to be released on May 6, 2016.

It will be interesting to see the direction the studio goes in, as fans of the comic are already well aware of his connection to Captain America, whose shield is made from materials only found in the Panther’s homeland.

According to Marvel President Kevin Feige, “In terms of Black Panther, it’s absolutely in development, and when you have something as rich as Wakanda and [Black Panther's] backstory – and clearly, Vibranium’s been introduced in the universe already – I don’t know when it will be exactly but certainly we have plans to bring him to life someday.”

“Beyonce Feminism, Rihanna Womanism” College Course Becomes Reality

Beyonce-and-Rihanna

Students at the University of Texas at Austin are already buzzing over the addition of a new course that will focus on Rihanna and the Queen Bee herself Beyonce. Though the course will not be available until Spring 2015, the University has already released some details regarding the curriculum.

According to the University, “They will not be simply listening to Beyoncé and Rihanna for fun or even comparing the roles of Beyoncé and Rihanna in popular culture, rather, students will be studying how the lyrics, music videos, and actions of these women express various aspects of black feminism such as violence, economic opportunity, sexuality, standards of beauty, and creative self-expression.

In a sign of the changing attitudes towards Hip Hop and R&B, a number of colleges have already made similar moves; including Rice University which offers a course taught by Bun B, Georgetown University which offers a sociology course based on Jay-Z, Harvard University which offers a course on Tupac Shakur and Rutgers University which already offers its own Beyonce course titled “Politicizing Beyonce.“

The course, according to its listing, “Hopes for students to understand the role black feminism plays in culture as well as everyday life.”

Beats Music To Relaunch As A Part Of iTunes Next Year

Beats Apple

There were rumors recently that Apple was going to shut down the streaming service Beats Music to make changes and now they seem to be following through.

Due to their downloading sales decreasing by 14 percent this year, iTunes is looking for ways to recoup and make more monies. To make up for their loss, the Wall Street Journal  reports that iTunes is rebuilding Beats Music, the $10-a-month streaming service, so it can relaunch as a part of iTunes next year.

Their decreasing sales now make it obvious as to why they purchased the subscription-based service as a part of their $3.2 billion acquisition of Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine’s Beats Electronics company earlier this year.

Murda Mook Freestyles Over Drake’s “6 God” Beat; “If A N*gga Wants Problems, Tell Him I’m Up In Harlem”

Mook-Drake

Is it open season on Drake? The YMCMB performer has had his fair share of verbal spats with other rappers in the past, but it appears right now he has two artists coming at his head at the same time. Collaborator-turned-adversary Tyga dropped a new song that looks to be aimed at Drake, and battle rapper Murda Mook also released a track that contains subliminals that may be for Drizzy.

Mook jumped on Drake’s “6 God” beat for his own version of the track. The Dot Mobb leader does not call out Drake by name, but knowing he has a history taking shots at the “Started From The Bottom” rapper (including his verse at the BET Hip Hop Awards) it may not be a stretch to assume he was speaking to Drake.

The veteran battler raps: “Let me hold this for a minute boy/I’ll give it back when I’m finished boy/Man don’t nobody listen, man it’s just competition/I ain’t got no problems with the boy…/But if a n***a wants problems, tell him that I’m up in Harlem/They can load the guns up and come get the boy/I don’t play with him.”

For months, Mook has been publicly discussing his interest in facing off against Drake in a battle. He has stated that Toronto native was actually the one that first introduced the idea of Drake vs. Murda Mook.

“[Drake] pulled me like, ‘Yo, if I battled a n***a, I’d probably have one of the best battles,” Mook told No Edits in September. “I’m like word. I tried to laugh it off. He kept insisting he would do that. Then he said he wanted to battle another rapper dude, because he didn’t like him – I’m not gonna say his name. But then he was like, ‘I didn’t really want to give a n***a that look. But you, I f**k with you.’”

Dr. Dre and Jimmy Lovine’s Creates Four-Year College

Dr. Dre and Jimmy Lovine's Creates Four-Year College

If you’ve thought that whatever school you attend (or attended) was dope, you might want to second guess yourself. Last year, producers Dr. Dre and Jimmy Lovine donated 70 Million Dollars to the University of Southern California’s for a new four-year college dedicated to several factors including art, industry, entrepreneurship. The college, called the Jimmy Lovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts,Technology, and the Business of Innovation, includes a plethora of classes including audio production, graphic design to name a few, according to Pigeons and Planes.

So the college’s real note to students is to…

With only a hand-full of students enrolled in the new college and halfway through their first semester, HYPETRAK obtained one student’s take on his experience in the new school. Here are a few things that the student is doing his first semester.

“A typical day in my academic life this first semester consists of analyzing the practices of innovative companies, learning my way around Adobe After Effects, building a 3D geometric cardboard model using Adobe Illustrator and a laser cutter, and working on a PowerPoint slide deck for a potential product.”

Can you still believe that this Dre was a member of NWA? Time’s changed. Check out the full letter here.

Maino Arrested For Assaulting A Porn Star

maino

ICYMI, news hit earlier this week that Maino allegedly assaulted a porn star outside of a New York City club in the Meatpacking District. Now, Page Six reports that Maino turned himself into the 6th precinct Thursday morning (Oct. 23) where he was arrested for misdemeanor assault.

It is reported that the Brooklyn spitter and porn star Mellanie Monroe began to have an altercation in his truck around 3 a.m Tuesday morning (Oct.21) outside of the nightclub The Griffin. Monroe claims that Maino punched her in the stomach, in her ribs and kicked her leg. After police helped her out of his truck, Maino and Monroe separated but went in the same direction with Monroe on foot and Maino driving his vehicle.

When Monroe spotted his truck on the corner of Gansevoort and Washington streets, she threw a brush at it and they began scuffling again. The adult actress then began fighting with his security guard while trying to snatch a champagne bottle out of his hand. The two ended up falling to the ground and Monroe hit her head on the concrete.

Maino, born Jermaine Cole, says he never had any physical contact with Monroe.

T.I. Says Raven-Symoné Has An Incredible Point About Not Being Labeled African-American

T.I.3

Raven-Symoné caused a major public debate when the actress stated that she did not want to be labeled African-American. The comments received criticism from some in the Black community, and Raven had to later clarify she did not mean to imply that she was not Black.

One fellow celebrity is in agreement with the former The Cosby Show star. During an interview with Larry King Now, T.I. was asked about Raven-Symoné’s statement, and the Atlanta rapper reinforced the belief that labels separate the population.

“I think she has an incredible point,” said Tip. “We are all American. To separate us – I think we need to find more reasons to unify rather than to divide each other.”

After suggesting that people should respect other’s religions, ideologies, and cultures, T.I. was asked why doesn’t he like the term “African-American.”

“I didn’t say I didn’t like it. Words to me don’t have much power unless you give them power,” T.I. explained. “African-American is what I was taught to call myself. I consider myself African-American, Black, an American. They’re all categories that we place ourselves in where we see comfort in words.”

Big Sean APP

Big Sean has been quite a busy man lately.

In addition to his new Adidas deal, signing a new management deal with Roc Nation and releasing 4 new tracks last month; he also found the time to capitalize on his growing “I Don’t F*ck With You” track by creating a new photo editor app of the same name.

By uploading a picture through the application, users can obscure or completely X out the face of an ex before sending out to various Social Media sites. Sean even went a step further, cleverly adding the #IDFWU hashtag for added emphasis.

T.I. Reveals Musical Direction Of Next Albums “The Return” & “Love & Liability”

T.I.2

T.I. just released his latest studio album this week, but the self-proclaimed “King of the South” has already formulated his next projects. While speaking with The Breakfast Club, Tip announced where he is looking to go musically on the follow-ups to Paperwork.

“I kind of divided them into concepts,” said T.I. referring to the over 200 songs he recorded during the Paperwork sessions. “Conceptually, if you listen to Paperwork all the way down, sonically it’s cohesive. You can tell it goes together. It has a theme, a feel, a vibe. I got a whole album full of the [trap music sound] coming up next called The Return. That album is already done.”

Tip plans to release his version of Kanye West’s 808s & Heartbreak called Love and Liability as well. The Atlanta-based rapper will not be singing on the album, but he describes the project as “the perspective of a real n***a who gets himself caught up in love.”

The Hustle Gang boss also revealed that the remix to his hit “About The Money” with Young Thug will feature Lil Wayne and Young Jeezy. The original version is climbing Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and the video on YouTube has totaled over 28 million views.

Tyga: I Don’t Like Drake As A Person

tyga

Tyga has been on the radar for controversy lately. First, he unleashed some tweets that signaled that there was some friction between him and his Young Money/Cash Money family. Now, he is alleged to be dating an underage Kylie Jenner, which he denies. In the midst of all the tension, the LA native has graced a digital cover of VIBE and has given his truth about it all.

When asked if YMCMB would be apart of his creative process for his new album, he said he was trying to distance himself from them and go independent. While discussing why, he dropped a bomb.

“I don’t really get along with Drake. I don’t really get along with Nicki,” he told VIBE. “I don’t like Drake as a person. He’s just fake to me. I like his music; you know what I’m saying? I think his music is good, but we’re all different people. We were forced together and it was kinda’ like we were forcing relationships together. It is what it is.”

The “Rack City” rapper also touched on not only whether he is dating 17-year-old Kylie Jenner, which he firmly denied, but his relationship with the whole Kardashian clan.

“Kylie? Nah. See the thing about Kylie… I’ve known Kylie and the whole family for four years. I introduced Chyna to Kim about a year ago. So everybody’s been cool, but like it’s just so hard, their world is different. If somebody wanna hang out, cool, I’m not opposed to hanging out with somebody. I hang out with her [Kylie], her sister [Kendall], I hang out with Scott [Disick] sometimes, I hang out with Khloe sometimes. But people wanna take the situation [with Kylie] to the next level.”

T-Raww also talked about how he feels about VH1 and working with Kanye. Read the full cover story here.

Billionaire Alki David Wants To Take Battle Rap Mainstream Starting With “Ether” Event

Alki David

One of the most memorable parts of Hip Hop culture from 2014 will most likely be the fact that battle rap exploded beyond YouTube. From the Eminem sponsored “Total Slaughter” TV show and event to the BET Hip Hop Awards featuring battlers performing on the main stage during the show, the lyrical competition is slowly creeping its way into the mainstream.

Billionaire Alkiviades “Alki” David of the Greek Leventis family is looking to push battle rap even further into pop culture. The self-confessed fan of Hip Hop and former break dancer sees battle rap as a valuable art form. David’s first move into the industry will be the upcoming “Ether” showcase for his FilmOn.TV internet television site.

“This is definitely the beginning of a UFC-style league for battle rap,” David told the Phoenix New Times. “It’s an intellectual sport and real social commentary.”

The main event for “Ether” is the much talked about match-up between Cassidy and Dizaster. The event will also present a “hologram experience” that will include special guests. David has prior history involving virtual performances. He played a role in the creation of the Tupac Shakur hologram at the Coachella Festival in 2012.

“The format has to be something the mainstream can understand,” said David. “I think what’s going to happen is the poetry of the spoken word will be elevated more and more, because eventually saying ‘f****t’ and ‘n***a’ are going to have to be replaced by something more competitive… There’s only so far you can go.”

“Ether” is scheduled to stream live on December 6th.

Hip-Hop Rumors: The REAL Reason Chief Keef Was Dropped!

Chief Keef

I heard things were getting pretty tense up there at Interscope Records with Chief Keef a ways back. And I also heard the reasons that he was dropped from his wonderful label up there at Interscope. Well, I of course have my own sources and they are saying some other stuff about why he was dropped from the label.

Do I need to say more?

Keef has a new album coming up and they wanted Interscope to support the project the way they have with other artists. But, my sources – which are not affiliated with either Interscope or Keef – said that they just didn’t want to pay for it. Seems like Keef got more expensive than he was bringing in money-wise.

There are apparently a lot of other reasons too, which you can

Nigeria Officially Declared Ebola Free

ebola in nigeria

Though much of West Africa continues to struggle against the deadly Ebola outbreak that has ravished the region and infected over 9,000 people, light appeared at the end of the tunnel as Nigerian officials have officially declared it to be Ebola free after the country has now gone over 42 days with no new infections.

Rui Gama Vaz, who serves as Nigeria’s World Health Organization Director declared it a “spectacular success story,” in a nation that has a population of over 160 million people.

Said Vaz, “The outbreak in Nigeria has been contained, but we must be clear that we only won a battle. The war will only end when West Africa is also declared free of Ebola.”

Ray Rice Could Be Reinstated To The NFL Within A Month

Ray Rice1

There is a possibility that Ray Rice will be able to play in the NFL again in the next four weeks. A date for Rice’s appeal hearing  has been set and a final decision will be decided after that hearing, CBSSports.com reports. The running back may be able to suit up again by mid-November.

Ray Rice was suspended indefinitely after TMZ released elevator footage of him punching his now wife Janay Rice in the face in Atlantic City last February. Even if Rice is reinstated to the NFL before the season ends, he still has to be picked up by a team which is not guaranteed due to the controversial circumstances.

Ja Rule Explains Why Joint Album With Jay Z & DMX Never Took Place

Ja Rule

Back in the late 1990’s Jay Z, DMX, and Ja Rule had planned to unite as the megagroup Murder Inc. Unforunately, an album from the trio never came out, and MTV caught up with Ja to discuss why the project never saw the light of day.

Backstage at the Def Jam 30th anniversary concert Ja Rule said:

We tried to deliver that album. It was a situation where egos all just played a part in its demise.

We couldn’t get X and Jay in the same room. From long ago, their storied battle on the pool table with the guns out – that carried over into our careers and we were all trying to do our thing separately. It was hard to get all of us into a room to do what we needed to do.

We did a few records together and those records will always be classics to a lot of people in the history of Hip Hop. I wish that album would’ve came to fruition. It would’ve been real dope…

I think there might be one or two joints that’s still out there that you haven’t heard.

DMX

DMX has been called a lot of things, but his ex wife may want to call him hero. The Yonkers-bred rapper has saved her Mt. Kisko, NY crib in 2000 for home from foreclosure. Tashera Simmons, the wife, shares the home with their four children.

The mortgage went unpaid for nearly four years, according to published reports. However, DMX stepped up and paid the amount in full, a total of $258,927.87.

Legal documents filed in Westchester County, NY were posted by The Jasmine Brand and indicated that DMX paid the entire mortgage in full.

The home’s original price was $649,000 when DMX bought it in 2000.

New Show “Sex And The Niggaz” Raises Eyebrows

Brazilian television may not have a clue how sensitive the “N-Word” is for Black people if a new TV show is an indication.

A new program called “Sex And The Niggaz” is a take on “Sex And The City,” but it follows four Black women.

The prime time show is written by a white man, Miguel Falabella, has people in an uproar, highlighting bigotry and bias. A national boycott has ensued and critics are all over this one.

One writer from mediadiversified.org said:

“In the series “Sex and the Niggaz”, the narrator is a white person. She is a voyeur; someone who is looking through a keyhole at the sexuality and the bodies of black women who can be raped and manipulated by structural whiteness, not only literally but also through cultural representation. Our existence is fetishised. We are on display for the white gaze. Moreover, even when the characters in “Sex and the Niggaz” are placed in situations of explicit racism and sexism, they do not react. The women remain silent or dissolve into strange giggles. These women do not represent us.”

Below is a preview of “Sex And The Niggaz.”

A Facebook page has been erected to stop the show. Click here for that.

Dallas Hospital Says They Are Deeply Sorry For Mishandling Ebola Case

texas health

The Dallas hospital where two American nurses contracted Ebola and one Ebola patient died is now apologizing. Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital has issued an apology for mishandling the case of the now deceased Thomas Eric Duncan, who was sent home after he first visited the hospital complaining of a fever and mentioned that he was from Liberia. Since Duncan’s death on Oct. 8th, two nurses that treated him have been diagnosed with Ebola, 26-year-old Nina Pham and 29-year-old Amber Vinson.

In a written testimony to the House Energy and Commerce Committee, the chief clinical officer for Texas Health Services Daniel Varga stated that losing Duncan was devastating to the hospital and expressed regret for not properly diagnosing him initially.

“Unfortunately, in our initial treatment of Mr. Duncan, despite our best intentions and a highly skilled medical team, we made mistakes. We did not correctly diagnose his symptoms as those of Ebola. We are deeply sorry.”

There is now a heightened concern about the virus spreading throughout the United States due to Vinson traveling by air between Cleveland and Dallas while having Ebola symptoms. Before Vinson was officially diagnosed with the virus, she called the CDC and complained that she had a fever but was told that she could still fly. She then flew from Cleveland to Dallas and was later officially diagnosed. Since news hit that she flew while exhibiting symptoms, the 132 passengers that she flew with are being interviewed and a few schools in Dallas and Cleveland have been closed due to Vinson being on board with students, CNN reports. Frontier Airlines also reportedly gave six crew members paid leave for 21 days as a safety precaution.

Vinson is currently being treated in Atlanta at Emory University Hospital while Pham remains in “good” condition at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital.

Stacey Dash Suggests Black Americans Are ‘Uneducated’ Under Obama’s Watch

stacey dash

Now a regular guest commentator on FOX News, actress Stacey Dash has caused an uproar yet again after suggesting that Blacks are suffering thanks to President Obama. During an appearance earlier this week on FOX’s Hannity, Dash advised that social welfare programs were pushed by the Democratic Party in an effort to rule over minorities.

“It still keeps them stuck. They are getting money for free,” said Dash before adding “They feel worthless. They are uneducated.”

When asked whether conditions for Blacks had improved during Obama’s presidency she advised, “no, not at all.”

This comes on the heels of statements she made earlier this summer in which she suggested artist Kanye West should be “raped in prison” in response to the rapper’s rant against the paparazzi.

No stranger to controversy, the Clueless star came under fire in 2012 when she publicly endorsed Republican candidate Mitt Romney, after first lending support to then presidential hopeful Obama in 2008.

Julia Beverly And Pimp C’s Son’s Mom Fire Back Over Book Beef

Pimp C

Julia Beverly, the longtime journalist, has been working on a book about the late, great Pimp C for 4 years, but has run into some friction as the release date nears.

Chinara Butler, the widow of the late UGK rapper, has denounced the book on social media and through other publications. Now, Julia Beverly speaks on the controversy surrounding the book.

Beverly, the founder of acclaimed OZONE magazine, talked exclusively to AllHipHop.com about why the book is completely legit.

RELATED: Hip-Hop Rumors: Beef With New Pimp C Book?

“When Pimp C was alive, we worked together on numerous projects and shared a mutual friendship, trust, and respect. This is a book that has been 4 years in the making with the full support of his mother and other family members. His mother Mama Wes, who was UGK’s manager for many years, passed away suddenly in 2013 after we had completed nearly 40 hours of interviews. I initially intended to do this project with his “estate” through his wife. However, after I learned that his wife does not have custody of any of his children, and his sons do not benefit financially from his estate, I made alternate arrangements with his mother. Mama Wes entrusted me with telling her son’s story accurately and honestly; it’s a responsibility I take very seriously. Sometimes the truth hurts, so I can understand why some people don’t want the story to be told.”

Angela Crooks, the mother of Pimp C’s two sons, also expressed her total support of the effort in stark contrast to Chinara.

“Chad’s widow Chinara is ‘the matriarch of her family’ but she does not speak on behalf of Chad’s sons Chad Jr., Corey, the rest of the family, the late Mama Wes, or the UGK Records family. She is only speaking for her and her daughter,” Angela Crooks told AllHipHop exclusively. Angela is the mother of Chad’s son Corey. “Julia Beverly has our full support with the Pimp C biography.”

Chinara had previously told djsdoingwork.com her reasoning for not supporting the Beverly book, including a book of her own.

“As the matriarch of my family, and voice of Chad Butler’s estate, I feel that it’s imperative that I make it publicly known that we do not endorse, nor have any ties to Julia Beverly’s pending unauthorized biography of Pimp C’s life. While I did meet with Julia regarding the book, I never committed our support to the project. We are working tirelessly to protect and manage the legacy my late husband built, and this book is counterproductive to our goals.

Pimp C’s estate has several projects underway that we know his fans will appreciate, including new music. After a successful Pimp C Tribute show at A3C, we’re putting the finishing touches on a new album. The project is the culmination of more than a year of work from Juicy J and myself . The project includes production contributions from Ray Murray (of Organized Noise), DJ B-Do ,CoryMo, Mike Will Made-It and Warren G, and features from Bun B, E-40,Too-Short, ASAP Rocky, Wiz Khalifa, Lill Wayne, Chris Brown, ESG, Lil KeKe, Devin The Dude, Sleepy Brown, Raheem DeVaughn, Rick Ross and more. I’m also penning a book that will give the world new insight into Chad Butler, the man.

I believe that all things should be done decent and in order, but more importantly with respect. While we wish Julia the best in her endeavors, it is our desire to totally separate ourselves, and the late Mama Wes from this project.”

Julia Beverly’s book, titled SWEET JONES: PIMP C’s TRILL LIFE STORY, will be released early 2015. More information is available at PimpCBook.com.

EXCLUSIVE: G4 Boyz Address Atlanta Shooting & Rumors Alley Boy Was Involved

G4 Boyz

News broke recently that Staten Island based G4 Boyz were involved in a shooting that took place in Atlanta. Group members Ice and Buggy had just finished performing at a PowTV and Dreamchasers sponsored show when an unknown gunmen open fired on their van.

At least three people were reported to have been hospitalized from the incident, but despite some media outlets stating G4 was hit, the blood brothers say that was not the case. Ice only suffered minor injuries from broken glass caused by bullets hitting the vehicle.

“We seen a lot of blogs say the G4 Boyz got shot and can’t come back to Atlanta. Honestly, the people that started that bulls**t is another website – I won’t say their name – but they’ve had something out for us, because we never wanted to deal with them,” declares Ice. “They started this whole G4 Boyz got shot up. I understand blogs got to get their job done, but don’t mislead people like we got shot up and are in critical condition. That’s a big lie.”

G4 claim they do not know who was targeting them that night, but they feel the reasoning behind the attack was simply jealousy. The duo has been building their brand for several years. Their catalog already includes collaborations with Migos, Waka Flocka, Travis Porter, Roscoe Dash, and Jae Millz. Their mixtape Ballin Wit No Deal 2 has been certified “Bronze” by DatPiff.com for securing over 25,000 downloads in two weeks.

“The only people ringing bells right now in New York is Bobby Shmurda, French Montana, A$AP Rocky, and Troy Ave. And now G4 Boyz. The only thing is all of them have big hits. We don’t have hits. We have a mixtape. People love our mixtape so much that the streets put us in position to do shows. Some people hate that,” Ice says. “For me, if I see somebody else doing that, I’d see that as motivation. We’re truly blessed. We thank God everyday.”

Almost immediately after reports of the shooting became public, internet rap fans began to question if the incident was related to the longstanding feud between G4 Boyz and Atlanta rapper Alley Boy. Several videos posted to YouTube back in 2011 featured G4 addressing the former Grand Hustle artist, but the Boyz doubt Alley Boy is actually connected to the gunning.

“Alley Girl, he’s always been a bum, so he just falls under the category of being a bum bum billy. Whoever had something to do with this, we don’t know. What we do know is he’s a bum,” states Ice. “I’m pretty sure it can’t be him, because he can’t even go to the ATL due to the whole T.I. and Jeezy thing, from what I’m told. I’m 100% sure it wasn’t him. I do know he’s a bum bum billy and looks like he doesn’t take showers.”

With their close ties to the Atlanta rap scene, G4 has a lot of love for the town that helped break them into the industry. Often times when a violent act involving rappers takes place, the situation can explode among supporters and fans as a rivalry between cities. The NYC representatives hope that escalation does not take place.

“Of course, you got people that are always riled up. I have people that don’t stand for this type of nonsense, but we are telling them it don’t have to be like that. Let’s just get back on the road and get this money. And let’s stay blessed,” says Buggy. “That’s what these bum bum billys want, because they don’t do numbers. We just finished doing 30,000 downloads on Datpiff. These bum bum billys can’t even come to New York to do a promotional run, because they are in fear.”

The Boyz also wanted to make it clear they do not wish ongoing bloodshed to become part of their upcoming events, and they are working to secure that a repeat of the gunfire does not happen in the future. Ice and Buggy are planning to help organize a free non-violence themed Hip Hop show in Atlanta as well.

Ice offers, “I just want to say we do apologize to anybody injured by the tragedy these bum bum billys did. At the end of the day, who wants to go to a concert or be around us and get hurt?”

“We’re here to inspire, motivate, and make people believe no matter where you come from or who you are, it can happen. We’re not about the violence,” adds Buggy. “If you go on our personal Instagram pages, you don’t see us posting guns or promoting violence. We post pictures of money, us doing shows, and showing people this is what you could have if you work hard enough. We promote flyness, grinding, motivation, winning.”

Charlamagne Tha God: Nas’ “Ether” Was Corny (VIDEO)

charlamagne-tha-god

Radio personality Charlamagne Tha God is known for expressing his opinions no matter how much they may differ from the general consensus. An example of that variation from popular thought is his views on Nas’ classic song “Ether.”

Many Hip Hop fans and historians view the Stillmatic cut as the better diss track between the “Ether”/”Takeover” battle, and some people even refer to it as the greatest diss track of all time. According to Charlamagne, “Takeover” wins for him, because he feels Jay Z included true accounts in his song while Nas just used gay and camel jokes.

“Ether was a good record, don’t get me wrong, but it’s angry as f**k. He sounded so emotional, and it’s elementary bulls*t,” expressed Charlamagne during his Brilliant Idiots podcast with Andrew Schulz. “It’s the oldest jokes you use on somebody – being gay, having AIDS. It’s just corny to me. Jay Z’s ‘Takeover’ was actually facts.”

C Tha God is not the only high-profile person in the Hip Hop community that felt Jay was the victor in the lyrical match-up. Last year TDE emcee Schoolboy Q shared he believes the Roc Nation rapper won that round as well.

“Honestly, I think Jay Z won,” said Schoolboy. “I mean Nas is my favorite rapper, but Jay Z, he was pretty scandalous.”

While others are still debating the 2001 battle, Nas recently revealed that he has no interest to reflect back on those times when he and Jigga were going at it. He claims he does not even listen to “Ether” anymore, because the two New York legends have moved on from their issues.

“It’s just old,” Nas told Angie Martinez in a recent interview.

Watch Charlamagne Tha God and Andrew Schulz discuss “Ether” versus “Takeover” in the video below.

DJ Quik Addresses Lil Wayne & Chris Brown’s Connections To Bloods Gang

DJ Quik

There has long been a claimed association between music artists and the Bloods. Two of those performers that have been connected to the Los Angeles based street gang are Lil Wayne and Chris Brown. During an interview with Sway In The Morning, West Coast legend and longtime Bloods affiliate DJ Quik was asked about Weezy and Breezy’s alleged Piru ties.

“It’s kind of honoring, but it’s laughable too at the same time,” said Quik. “They don’t really know what that s**t is about. We took that s**t way seriously. We were trying to survive through that s**t. They got it too easy.”

Quik went on to say that anyone in the industry that is claiming Bloods really needs to be about the lifestyle. The Midnight Life album creator adds artists should not use the “red flag” as a marketing ploy to get street credibility, because there are individuals that have real issues with Bloods and will test them.

Neuroscientist & Psychiatrist Are Promoting Using Hip Hop To Treat Mental Illness

HIP HOP PSYCH TM

For all the negative societal issues that often get fairly or unfairly associated with rap music, neuroscientist Dr. Becky Inkster at England’s University of Cambridge and psychiatrist Dr. Akeem Sule, a Wolfson College associate, have started the social venture Hip Hop Psych to help treat mental illnesses such as schizophrenia and depression.

“There is so much more to Hip Hop than the public realizes,” Inkster told The Guardian. “It is rich in references to psychiatric illnesses that have not been properly explored and which could be of enormous benefit to patients.”

Inkster and Sule view patients being able to use Hip Hop as part of their therapy by writing and rapping lyrics. They could possibly see medical students learning about mental health issues through the art form as well.

According to Inkster, rappers have already been using their craft as a form of healing. She believes some Hip Hop performers have a tendency to suffer from depression and other mental health problems because of their upbringing.

“Many key rappers and Hip Hop artists come from deprived urban areas which are often hotbeds for problems such as drug abuse, domestic violence and poverty, which are in turn linked to increased occurrences of psychiatric illnesses,” added Inkster.

Veteran emcee Pharoahe Monch actually tackled the issue of mental illness on his latest album PTSD: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Earlier this year, Monch discussed his own battle with depression with AllHipHop.com.

“‘Losing My Mind’ and the title track are actual accounts of me dealing with a bout of depression where I had been hospitalized with asthma. The attack at the time was real severe, so the amount of medication I was receiving was pretty harsh,” explained Monch. “After leaving the hospital, I went from taking the medication intravenously to pills, and I was just bombarded with not being able to sleep and overall not being able to process anything. I just remember being like ‘what the f**k is happening to me?’”

Hip Hop Psych will be covering artists like 2Pac, Kendrick Lamar, and J Cole at the upcoming Cambridge Festival of Ideas event on October 20.

Ab-Soul Says Kendrick Lamar’s ‘i’ Is Self Empowering

ab soul montreality

Montreality caught up with the Ab-Soul during a stop on his These Days tour and chopped it up with the Black Lip Pastor about how he felt about his TDE comrade Kendrick Lamar’s new single “i.”

“He summed up my whole album in that song,” he said relating the song to his These Days project. “He probably wasn’t even aware of it.” He continued “It’s probably the most positive song that I’ve heard in a long time–the most self empowering song.”

Ab said that K. Dot can help people love themselves with this record and is using his words wisely.

“That’s when you’re taking responsibility for what you’re saying. Its kids listening. Its people that are going through things listening and you could use these words to lift them up.”

Peep the interview to see Soulo tell his most memorable TDE story, how he met Joey Bada$$, the last time he cut his hair and much more.

However, over the weekend DMC returned to his true roots as an OG (Original Geek) at the New York Comic Con 2014.
